American Military Executes Deadly Attack in Eastern Pacific, Leading to 4 Deaths

According to a high-ranking military spokesperson, the US armed forces executed a lethal strike on a vessel in the eastern Pacific, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.

“A US joint task force carried out a deadly attack on a vessel linked to a Designated Terrorist Organization in international waters. Surveillance confirmed the vessel was transiting along a known drug smuggling route and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. All four male drug traffickers were eliminated, and no American forces were injured.”

Background and Recent Strikes

This announcement follows a day after an announcement regarding a naval blockade of all targeted oil tankers to and from Venezuela. That statement on online platforms, the American leader accused Venezuela of using oil revenues to fund drug trafficking and other crimes, vowing to increase the military presence.

Only on Tuesday, US defense officials stated it had conducted strikes on three boats it accused of smuggling narcotics in the Pacific, leading to the deaths of eight people. Since 2 September, more than 20 strikes have killed at least 99 people, the majority off the coast of Venezuela.

Administration Justifies Actions Amid Scrutiny

The administration has encountered increasing demands to release video of a September 2nd vessel attack. However, officials have refused to do so. The administration has supported its campaign as a successful operation, arguing it has prevented drugs from entering US shores and has dismissed concerns that it is stretching the limits of legal military action.

While the administration has stated the campaign is about stopping drugs destined for the US, remarks from a senior aide seemed to suggest a wider political aim. In a recent interview, the chief of staff said the leader “wants to keep on destroying vessels until Venezuela's president cries uncle.”

This indicates the series of strikes may be linked to a push to remove Venezuela's sitting government.
