The New Zealand fighter stepped onto the scales almost 20 pounds more against the British boxer as each heavyweights presented confident appearances - although in opposing ways - leading up to this weekend's main event in the capital.

From New Zealand Joseph Parker is risking his WBO 'interim' belt and opportunity to fight for the global championship up for grabs facing the unbeaten Fabio Wardley at the O2 Arena.

Reigning heavyweight champion Usyk has made clear his intention to defend his world titles against the victor.

"It all comes down to this. It represents the ultimate," stated a focused but concentrated Fabio Wardley, 30, at the Friday pre-fight ritual.

The British contender - the holder of the WBA 'interim' belt - registered at 17st 5lb, matching his previous matches.

"This fight prior to the one. Every effort is finished. Preparation is wrapped up. The grueling sessions is accomplished. Let's get some rest now. Huge occasion coming up," he added.

The East London market in London's east end hosted more than market goods on the scales as the pair of boxers squared up for the final time prior to the bout.

Joseph Parker flashed a wink at the lenses and bobbed along to the tunes.

Showing off his strength, he seemed hefty and forceful as he registered at 18st 10lb, only a handful of pounds less than his heaviest ever.

This represents a significant difference from the sixteen stone twelve pound iteration who lost his championship to Joshua in the year 2018.

"We're weary, we are wary, but I will to fight fire with fire and I'm going to get him," Joseph Parker declared.

Fabio Wardley, dressed in an Ipswich top, kept a focused look, nodded to the fans, but seemed concentrated.

Although he is the smaller man, Wardley has outstanding stopping ability. He delivered a remarkable turnaround against his opponent in June, down on the judges' cards before finishing his opponent in the 10th round despite being outmaneuvered for the majority of the contest.

"His opponent, his team and boxing fans are about to discover I am destined to be at the peak of this heavyweight ranks," Fabio Wardley stated.

"Each rival has been the one pundits predict will overcome me. This is that fight. He is too quick, swift, highly seasoned. Yet I remain unbeaten yet, and no one will shift tomorrow night."
