Educator Slain and 25 Female Students Kidnapped in Gunbattle at School in Nigeria

Armed assailants have fatally shot an educator and kidnapped no fewer than 25 pupils in an raid targeting a educational institution for young women in north-western Nigeria, according to police.

The gang of attackers breached the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on Monday, authorities reported.

The attackers "exchanged fire with security forces on duty in a firefight" before climbing over the boundary wall and taking the pupils captive from their dormitory, authorities disclosed.
