Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
