The Two Fatalities Identified in the Ivy League School Attack as Authorities Persist in Manhunt for Perpetrator.

Two students who died in the recent mass shooting at Brown University had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter carried on following the release by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect detained in connection in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The young woman Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, per the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as vice-president of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also expressed words of sorrow on social media, remarking: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her loved ones and companions, particularly her mother and father.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, his family confirmed.

The victim's identification was verified by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. His ambitions were lofty of entering the field of neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

Details of the Attack

Nine more persons were hurt in the weekend shooting in the engineering department of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a man aged 24 detained in a police operation at a lodging about around 27 kilometers from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.

“There is a killer at large,” said Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you have to regroup and go in another, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last approximately one day.”
