Vince Zampella, who helped create the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to.
